Semih Kaplanoğlu

Semih Kaplanoglu is one of the most acclaimed writer-director- producers of contemporary filmmaking in Turkey.
He received BS in Cinema- Television from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dokuz Eylül Universiy, Izmir in 1984.
Kaplanoğlu made his debut in 2001 with “Away From Home”, and with this film he was awarded Best Director in Singapore IFF.
In 2005, he made his second feature “Angel’s Fall”. The film received Best Film Awards in Nantes, Kerala and Barcelona Alternativa FF.
With his third feature film »Yumurta« (Egg), which premiered in 2007 Quinzaine des Realisateurs, he received Best Director awards in Fajr IFF, Valdivia IFF and Bangkok World FF. The film received 30 awards in total including important national awards such as the Golden Orange (Antalya IFF) and the Golden Tulip award (Istanbul IFF).
His feature film »Süt« (Milk) premired at the 2008 Venice IFF, and was also screened at festivals around the world, earning him international awards, such as FIPRESCI prize at the Istanbul IFF.
His recent feature »Bal« (Honey) the third part of the Yusuf Trilogy, winner of GOLDEN BEAR award in 60th Berlinale IFF, traces the origins of a soul.
Semih Kaplanoglu, born in 1963, has also written many articles based on plastic arts and cinema which have been translated into foreign languages and published in such magazines and journals as Gergedan, Gösteri, Cumhuriyet, and Sanat Dünyamız between 1987 and 2003.

Suzan Hande Güneri
Production Manager
Suzan Hande Guneri was born in 1978 in Izmir. She is graduated from Ege
University, Faculty of Cinema & Radio / TV in 1999. She worked as an editor in several TV channels and edited many commercials and promotion videos for 3 years.
She worked in the film "Angel's Fall" as an assistant director. She has worked in all stages of production for the film "Angel's Fall" including pre-production, production and post-production (Editing, color correction, sound mix) stages.
In 2005 she was selected to Berlinale Talent Campus #3 as an editor.
Since then, she has been working as an assistant producer within the company Kaplan Film Yapım and participated in the development of new feature film projects. She was the representative for the project 'Steppe Winds' in Euroforum '05, the co-production Market which took place in Gran Canaria in March 2005.
Recently she has been to Cinemart Co-production Market as a representative of Kaplan Film Production for Semih Kaplanoglu's new project, the Trilogy of "Honey - Milk - Egg".
In 2006 she participated to the workshop "Mediterranean Films Crossing Borders" during Cannes Film Festival which is supported by Euromed Audiovisual.

Munire Zeyneb Buyukcoskun
Munire Zeyneb Buyukcoskun was born in 1983 in Istanbul. She did her BA degree in English Language and Literature at IIUM. She worked for the documentary Behind Walls: Women in Muslim Countries as scriptwriter and translator. After working in the Egyptian Consulate General for two years she has returned to the culture sector and started working in Kaplan Film as the assistant production coordinator in 2009.

Aida Begic
Aida Begic was born in Sarajevo in 1976. She graduated directing
at Sarajevo Academy of Performing Arts in 2000. Her graduation film FIRST DEATH EXPERIENCE was presented at The Cinefondation Official Selection of 2001 Cannes Film Festival and won numerous awards at festivals worldwide.
In 2003 she wrote and directed her second short film NORTH WENT MAD. Her debut feature film SNOW was shown at Cannes 2008 – Semaine de la critique and won the Grand Prix and numerous following awards all around the world.
Aida Begic is teaching directing at The Academy of Performing Arts
Sarajevo and has directed numerous documentaries, commercials, videos and promotional films.
In 2009 she founded an independent production company FILM HOUSE.
Her second feature film DJECA (Children of Sarajevo) is selected in Un Certain Regard – Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival 2012.
